Home to numerous tribes and communities, Dooars boasts a rich and diverse culture that has a blend of all the regional communities and tribes of the region. Folk dance, songs, music and folklore are a major part of their cultural tradition. Nepali, Rajbhansis, Rava, Toto and Lepcha are the predominant communities of this region that make up to majority of the traditions. Filled with vastly spread tea gardens and forests, agriculture and tea cultivation are the major sources of livelihood. Being under the rule of various dynasties the place follows old-age rituals and traditions that have been passed on to by generations. Besides this, Dooars is also home to numerous pilgrimage sites and temples that welcome devotees from all over the country throughout the year.
