Situated on the hills of the foothills of the eastern Himalayan range, the country includes diverse landscapes and topography that offers a picturesque view of the valley. Spread across more than 38, 394 sq km of land, the land of Bhutan is known for its rich flora and fauna with more than 69% of its land covered under forests. With an elevation ranging from 100m in the southern bet to more than 7,000 m in the northern part, the country has diverse climatic conditions that change based on the location and altitudes. While the southern part of the country offers a subtropical climate with a temperature ranging from 15 to 30 degrees Celsius, the northern part has freezing cold climatic conditions with temperature that goes below zero during winters.
